If there’s one person who can give an honest one star review to Ford Theater it’s Abraham Lincoln. Honest Abe, the 16th President of the United States, was assassinated at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C., on the evening of April 14, 1865. Lincoln was attending a play called “Our American Cousin” with his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, at Ford’s Theatre when he was shot by John Wilkes Booth, a Confederate sympathizer and actor. Booth entered the president’s theater box and shot Lincoln in the back of the head. After committing the act, Booth jumped from the box to the stage and made his escape. Lincoln was taken across the street to the Petersen House, where he died the following day, on April 15, 1865.
