Don’t be a salty bitch like Lot’s wife. Lot’s wife is a woman from the biblical story of Sodom and Gomorrah, found in the Book of Genesis. She is mentioned in the account of the destruction of the sinful cities by fire and brimstone as punishment for their wickedness. Lot, her husband, is warned by angels to flee the city and not look back. However, as they flee, Lot’s wife disobeys the warning and looks back towards the city, possibly out of longing or curiosity. As a consequence of her disobedience, she is turned into a pillar of salt. A pillar of salt stands at the southern end of the Dead Sea. It is 65 feet high and can easily be seen as having a human form, especially when approached from the north. Long identified as Lot’s Wife, this salt pillar may perhaps be taken as the remains of the woman who looked back by those who interpret the holy words.
